Just back from our epic trip and today in Park Recorral, Rojales, I saw Montagu’s Harrier and a male Common Redstart.
Very cold this morning, so appropriately late first sighting – for me at least – of a Red-rumped Swallow, at the University. Common Swifts have also only just put in an appearance in our sky.
Very little about today, but the first Collared Pratincoles were at Vista bella.
Went to Vistabella road, first hide and after hearing my first Great Reed Warbler of the year, flushed a Spotted Crake. Thousands of hirundines passing, including big numbers of Sand Martin, accompanied by Common and Pallid Swift in small numbers. … Continued
Finally caught up with the drake Garganey at the Visitor Centre, also a singing Reed Warbler, thousands of Shoveler, Avocet and schoolkids, the last of which drove me away.
